Installation
Sound cannot exist without space and outside of time. A lot of the music I enjoy embraces the idea of a timeless state - music as complex modulated stasis, sound as a temporal sculpture. A club night is both an experience of a space and one of sound and light outside normal time constraints. Extending my artistic practice from music towards sound art and audiovisual installations was a small step, and in 2012 I found a medium that was challenging and rewarding: lasers.
